WASHINGTON STREET


Enrichment Program P.N.A.C. is a recreational enrichment program designed to enhance children’s physical, academic, and development. P.N.A.C. operates year round with After-School during the academic year and Summer Camp during the summer months.  As with the After-School program, the Summer Camp is hosted at Artz at the Ritz and the New Park on Washington Street.


Let's Move in the New Park on Washington brings together children of all ages and get them physically active in a safe, lively, and fun environment. The program is hosted at the New Park on Washington in High Point. Children from toddlers to teens enjoy two hours of action packed activities once a month from January to December and participate in interactive thematic activities including strength, stability, mobility, flexibility, power, balance, and conditioning while having FUN.


Children's Wellness Program is a one-year childhood obesity intervention program designed for elementary age boys and girls in Greater High Point. The objective is to provide a program in a safe environment that is focused on holistic, healthier living for boys and girls (8-10 years) who are obese or at risk for obesity. Participants will initially attend a six week summer training program, on site and online, during July and August where they will develop strength, stability, mobility, flexibility, power, balance, conditioning and self-esteem while having FUN in a safe environment. Emphasis of the programming is on nutrition, physical conditioning, body image, individual responsibility, accountability, participation, and parental encouragement and support. Examples of educational and training sessions include (1) special instruction with aerobics, running, free weights, Zumba and yoga and (2) individualized skill development for basketball, soccer, football, track, karate, cheerleading/dance.


Women's LIFTING Wellness Program is a six week program hosted at Ritz Theater on Washington Street which provide women with education on benefits of regular physical activity and risks of a sedentary lifestyle; its impact on cardiovascular health and diseases; its relationship with weight control and stress management; and opportunity to participate in aerobic, strength training, and core stability activity. In addition, the objective is to provide women with a holistic nutrition education with an hands on interactive approach allowing families to explore how they can improve their diet by increasing their fruits and vegetables consumption; improve their nutrition practices by making healthier food choices and reading nutrition labels; improve their food resource management practices by preparing more meals at home, planning meals, and shopping with a grocery list; and improve their food safety practices by storing and thawing food properly.

Boys & Girls 
Ages 2-5

Let's Move in Our Schools and Daycares is a community childhood physical fitness and obesity prevention program designed to get elementary school children and toddlers active and healthy by teaching the fundamentals of basketball and guidelines of nutritious eating. Emphasis is on the importance of how walking, basketball, fruits, vegetables, and water work together to make kids healthy and strong. Interactive and Engaging Show in elementary schools, daycares, pre-schools and community centers for elementary students and toddlers to get them up and moving in a physically active supervised environment in a way they enjoy and at the same time learn the fundamentals of basketball and good nutrition. The program is offered from September to May and is suitable for entire school or facility. It is an action-packed one hour show with singing, fun, education and interaction. Children fully interact with our Dream Team cast including Dr. D-UP, Air Apple, Larry the Carrot, Magic Water and Pedi Pedometer. 


They learn:

- The definition of nutrition, exercise, and basketball;
- How to properly stretch and warm-up;
- The fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and shooting;

- How to properly cool-down.

- EVERY child receives an award for participation.


D-UP ACADEMY
Boys & Girls
Ages 6-17

D-UP Academy (Participants in D-UP Academy) is a childhood physical fitness and obesity awareness and prevention program designed to get adolescents active and healthy by teaching the fundamentals of basketball and guidelines of nutritious eating. There are a variety of programs throughout the year that promote physical activity and repetitive drills to maximize training.


Fundamentals & Skills Camp is for boys and girls ages 6-17 to receive personal attention to improve fundamentals and develop skills but also learn teamwork. The additional days allow further enhancement of training. The program is offered during the summer for five days with four days for three hours and the final day for five hours.


Fundamentals & Skills Clinic is for boys and girls ages 6-17 to receive personal attention to improve fundamentals and develop skills but also learning teamwork. The program is offered during the Summer and Winter. They are three days with two days for three hours and the final day for five hours.


Taking it Back to the Basics is training that proves to be action-packed, fun, and educational for boys and girls in elementary school. Emphasis is on nutrition, physical activity, character building, and the basic fundamentals of basketball. The program is offered once a month year round for four hours on Saturday's to the general public and a scheduled weekday during the school year to after-school programs and other organizations.


Personal Training For Individuals & Groups is for Individuals who don't feel comfortable training with a group or for kids who request one on one training butare comfortable training with small groups. It's also for individuals who have a desire to perfect their game or teams who have a desire to enhance their teamwork skills. The program is for boys and girls ages 6-17 and is offered year round.
