PROGRAMS, SERVICES, & EVENTS

Our Programs, Services, and Events are designed with Awareness, Prevention, and Intervention in mind while also supporting the goals of promoting overall Health, Education, and Life Readiness for youth, adults, and families.

ATTRIBUTES

Aligning with D-UP's Mission, Vision and Values, these attributes define the organizations purpose and demonstrate the importance of holistic development in individuals and the community. Every program comprises of at least one attribute, with many embodying multiple categories.

PROGRAMS

CHILDREN'S WELLNESS

A yearlong childhood obesity intervention program designed for Greater High Point elementary age boys and girls (8-10 years) who are obese or at risk for obesity with focus on holistic healthier living; activities encouraging emotional, social, mental, and physical development. Boys participate in Boy Power Sports Club and girls participate in Girl Power Healthier Living Boot Camp.

D-UP DOMINION

Programming that provides individualized support, life skill training, and professional skills and workplace training to assist community high school youth and adults prepare, locate, and retain job placement.

ETIQUETTE BOOTCAMP

A semester long program with an emphasis is on good manners, contemporary social graces, self-esteem, self-respect, respect for others, and confidence in social situations.

FUN-DAMENTAL FIELD HOCKEY

A youth development initiative in partnership with Allie's Legacy and USA Field Hockey designed to expose field hockey to youth in Washington Street Enrichment Program and the community.

TAKING IT BACK TO BASICS

A year round physical fitness and obesity awareness and prevention program across the Triad that is designed to get youth active and healthy by teaching the fundamentals of basketball and guidelines of nutritious eating.

WASHINGTON STREET ENRICHMENT AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Operates After-School during the academic year to Greater High Point students in Kindergarten through High School and its objective is to offer a recreational enrichment program designed to enhance children's physical, academic, and personal development.

WASHINGTON STREET ENRICHMENT SUMMER CAMP

Summer programming offered to Greater High Point students in Kindergarten through High School providing a recreational enrichment program designed to enhance children's physical, academic, and personal development.

WASHINGTON STREET MUSIC, MOVEMENT AND ARTS COLLECTIVE

A year-round program that focuses on empowering students by providing them with skills and a space to express themselves. Built upon the belief that processing the experience of growing up requires more than just language, students are given the expressive tools to process and share their experience through music, dance, and other forms of art.

WELL CENTERED ME

WOMEN'S WELLNESS

A twelve-week program for D-UP mothers, family members, and women in the community; offering courses in healthy lifestyle development for themselves, their families, and ultimately their community. Participants receive tools necessary to practice physical activity, nutrition, individual responsibility, accountability, organization, mental health, and teamwork.

SERVICES

A year round program that build relationships and resilience in opportunity zones by serving as a bridge between families and community resources and creating networks to build social capital; and facilitating community cohesion.

LET'S MOVE TO THE MUSIC

An annual event celebrating students enrolled in D-UP's Summer Camp. It consist of family-friendly activities focused on movement, appreciation of music, and community engagement at a free or low cost. This festival offers a safe, lively, and fun environment; enstilling community pride and wellbeing while creating lasting memories.
